University of Louisville Completes State-of-the-Art Control Room Build With Systerms Integration by BeckTV

BeckTV served as the systems integrator for the control room build at the new University of Louisville (UofL) Athletics Broadcast Center in Louisville, Kentucky. The state-of-the-art, 7,850-square-foot television production facility, which opened its doors in September 2018, is designed to house all of the equipment and personnel necessary to originate live programming for the comprehensive linear and digital ACC Network, which will be launched by the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and ESPN in 2019.

TEGNA Media & BeckTV Collaborate in Relocating Seattle Stations

BeckTV has completed the relocation of the TEGNA Media-owned stations KING, KONG, and 24-hour regional news channel Northwest Cable News (NWCN) to a newly remodeled building located across town in Seattle’s SoDo neighborhood and adjacent to the home fields of the city’s Major League Baseball and National Football League teams, the Mariners and Seahawks. Collaborating with TEGNA Media on the design and build of broadcast facilities within “Home Plate Center,” BeckTV assisted with programming, space planning, broadcast system design, broadcast budget development, and system integration to enable a rapid transition to more robust and innovative facilities.  

KPRC & BeckTV Collaborate in Relocating new Graham Media station

KPRC TV, the CBS affiliate in Houston, Texas proudly announced the launch of their new building and technical facilities this April. BeckTV provided consulting for the technical spaces, the systems design and the final integration for this beautiful, new Graham Media station. The major market facility boasts two large studios, two automated production control rooms and a building wired for fiber and copper connectivity throughout.  

Hearst Station KETV in Omaha Partners With BeckTV and Evertz for New Broadcast Facility in Historic Rail Station

BeckTV today announced that it has completed the installation and commissioning of broadcast systems within the brand-new KETV facility, located within the renovated Burlington Station in Omaha, Nebraska. The Hearst Television-owned television station worked with BeckTV to integrate state-of-the-art broadcast systems, using Evertz end-to-end infrastructure solutions, into the historic building while preserving original elements dating back to 1898, when the rail station first opened. “BeckTV has a great deal of experience completing significant station builds for Hearst, and the good relationship we enjoy helped us to overcome the challenges of establishing a 21st century media facility within a 117-year-old structure,” said Warren Behrens, KETV director of engineering. “While BeckTV already understands Hearst stations’ infrastructure and workflow preferences, the company’s engineers worked closely with us to identify and address the unique requirements for this new station build. In the end, it all came off incredibly well, giving our staff better tools and a better environment in which to create content.”  

HD Control Room Installed by BeckTV Helps Dr Pepper Ballpark and MiLB Frisco RoughRiders Score Big With Fans

BeckTV today announced that it has completed a new HD production control room for the City of Frisco’s Dr Pepper Ballpark and the Frisco RoughRiders, the Class AA Minor League Baseball (MiLB) affiliate of the Texas Rangers. The Texas ballpark is rated among the best in the minor leagues, and it undertook the project to complement a new 85-foot by 33-foot Daktronics LED video display. With design firm WJHW consulting on the project, BeckTV installed and took the new facility online within the month preceding the Frisco RoughRiders’ April 9 home opener. “When our new RoughRiders ownership group purchased the franchise in August 2014, we immediately set out to transform the in-game experience at Dr Pepper Ballpark, highlighted by a cutting-edge audio and visual entertainment platform,” said Chuck Greenberg, RoughRiders chairman and managing partner. “We turned to BeckTV for our HD production control room project because of the company’s impressive experience and the passion that the BeckTV team shows for its work.”  

BeckTV Builds Video Control Rooms for Mizzou Athletics, Boosting Live Production Capabilities Campuswide

BeckTV today announced that it designed and built two brand-new video control rooms for Mizzou Athletics at the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri. The control rooms support scoreboard video production and live campuswide production of collegiate sports events for broadcast on the university’s athletic conference cable channel and for streaming via the conference’s online platform. “The initial plan for this project was to create a single control room that would support digital production for our conference streaming service, but BeckTV helped us to achieve much more than that,” said Stan Silvey, assistant athletic director, broadcast operations, for Mizzou Athletics. “The company has a reputation for building broadcast facilities that meet major network standards, and we feel confident that the two very professional and versatile control rooms we built with BeckTV output a broadcast product that would be difficult to distinguish from coverage on any cable network.”

BeckTV, one of the United States’ premier design-build systems integrators, today announced that it provided design and integration services for the exceptionally versatile large-scale flypack created by Video Equipment Rentals (VER) to support broadcasters at the 2014 French Open tennis tournament. Providing a four control-room system with a centralized master control, the VER flypack supported simultaneous broadcast coverage by four different networks. The flexible modular design of the flypack and the quality of the systems integration will enable VER to meet the demands of the largest productions, or to split the system in half to support two different productions. “The knowledge and experience that BeckTV brought to the table were invaluable in assuring smooth integration of equipment within this flypack, identifying all of the required elements, and packaging them in a way that minimizes the time and hassle of packing, shipping, and on-site setup,” said Howard Rosenthal, director of broadcast at Video Equipment Rentals. “With this massive yet agile flypack in our rental inventory, there isn’t a show in the world that we can’t do.”

BeckTV’s Integration Expertise Enables University of Florida’s GatorVision to Join SEC Network . State-of-the-Art Control Room, Originally Engineered by BeckTV, Will Now Support up to 120 Productions and Expand Educational Experience for Broadcast Students 

BeckTV, one of the United States’ premier design-build systems integrators, is working with the University of Florida to adapt its GatorVision on-campus broadcast control room for live HD sports broadcasting on the upcoming SEC Network. After providing initial systems integration, installation, and support to develop and deploy the state-of-the-art control room in 2012, BeckTV is now continuing its ongoing partnership with the school’s University Athletic Association (UAA) for the expansion. With a scheduled launch in August, the SEC Network will be operated by ESPN and is dedicated to covering the sports and success of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Initially launched for the Florida Gators’ 2012 football season, the GatorVision control room is located in the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications building. In partnership with the UAA, BeckTV designed the facility to support HD shows for the Daktronics video boards and the GatorVision streaming video platform from six major sports venues located throughout the campus — the football stadium; the basketball, volleyball, and gymnastics arena; and baseball, soccer, softball, and lacrosse stadiums. The control room also provides an important hands-on educational component for radio/television students in the College of Journalism and Communications.
